Birth Announcement/ Blessing Invite

You will all be getting one of these in the mail or in person but I'm running a little behind and I wanted to make sure I got them to you in time! We hope you all can come! Let us know so we can have an idea of how many to plan on! If you can bring something potluck that will be great too! Let me know. I'm not even sure what we are gonna be eating...lol. I'm such a procrastinator. We will be having cake and icecream for Ammon for dessert though.

Grand Canyon

***Rim to Rim***

We started at the North Rim Wednesday morning and Hiked 14 miles down and stayed the night at Phantom Ranch, 8 hours latter. Then we awoke and left at sunrise the next morning and finished at the South Rim, 10 miles up and 7 hours latter .

On the way out towards the South Rim we passed "a lot" of mules that were packing supplies and people down to the bottom.

Its really hard to tell but this trail zig zags down and was steep.

What I learned....

***Going down is harder than going up...

***I packed too much food.... lol .....people kept telling me to pack enough food...AND I DID. I gave most of it away at the bottom.

***I met so many different and interesting people from all over the world in those two short days.

***I loved it and would do it again..... YEAH!

"Angel's Landing"

I've taken up Hiking !!!!!

These are a few pictures of the my hike on Angels Landing in Zions National Park. This is Shirley Johnson (a cousin/friend on the Larsen/Laub side) and I at the top of Angels Landing. It is a Elevation Gain.....Long steady climb of 1488' feet. The Peak is at 5785'.

I loved it and I'm ready to do it again!

We have been hiking for about two months. There are many many beautiful trails right here in Kanab. I literally can walk out my front door and walk around the block to one of them. Most of the trails are well marked and used by many... And some are NOT Easy. BUT I LOVE IT.

My goal is to hike rim to rim of the Grand Canyon... This fall.

This Condor was flying around a little before we reached the top.... It was so beautiful and then all of a sudden it landed on this dead tree that was only 20 (ish) feet away from us.

After 8 hours, struggling to put the truck back together...I could not complete the job. I needed real help with smaller hands. And WHO stepped up...not mighty mouse, not Super Man, Judy IS THE MAN!

Camp Kolob 2009

Family "Get Together" in Kolob

We have planned to get together in Kolob the weekend of August 7th!

We will be camping down in the Girls Camp campgrounds. So, there is plenty of space for everybody! It will be so fun to get together at least ONCE this summer and..... THE MORE THE MERRIER!! Mom said we could even do the big waterslide if we want! So plan on that! So, let us know if you plan on coming so we can plan meals and maybe different things we want to do!!

Nicholas has already taken Ethan out three times....(with Kelli and Grandma B. gritting their teeth with worry) He is so excited to show off his son...

The Bartlett Baby Is Here

Nicholas and Kelli had their Baby Boy today. As of right now the name has not been determined :) According to Kelli its Nicholas who cant make up his mind. :) Kelli and Baby are doing great, and Nicholas is a proud little Daddy. We are so excited for them. Emilie and I got to skype with them earlier and so we got to see the little one. My mom has been so busy. She had a wedding she was helping with today, so she ran over to Cedar and then back to Kanab to decorate cause she is using real flowers, then she will be back in Cedar tomorrow I think. She wanted me to let all you know.

Happy Aniversary to us

We had a great day on our anniversary. We worked our tails off at the campground, We put in such a day that we went back to the cabin and had a shower, had a hot dog for dinner and sat down to watch TV and woke up much later and went to bed. I know your all wishing you could do that. That is pretty much our schedule every day but Friday. It is so nice to go to the temple and work on those days. We are both on line now and hardly see each other from the time we get there till time to leave but when we do it's such a neat feeling. You just seem to fall in love all over again. There is just no place to be better than in the Lord's house. This last week it was so neat. Dad officiated in the session and I was first follower. I'm telling you, sometime I hope you all get to feel the special felling it is to work in our Lord's house next to your husband or wife, It can't be beat.
We came home last night because we had dental appt. today and we have to go back tomorrow. It is so cold up there, I hope it warms up soon. It hasn't got over 55' this past week. It's not bad till the wind blows, but we just work harder to keep warm.
They said that if there is a time when on one is scheduled to be there we can have our family up to enjoy the camp. So far there is no one scheduled for August 1 - 8 16-22 so if we want to have a family reunion let's get something going.
Must go get laundry finished or we won't have clothes clean to take back with us.

"ONLY" 63rd in men's and 80th in women's place overall ... lol ... There were over 240 people running.

I was 4th in the Women division 45 - 49

Loaded with LOVE!

Today the kids got 2 packages in the mail. Emilie loves getting mail. We were loaded with fun fun things. Grandma and Grandpa Laub sent Emilie and Easton some things and my Aunt Carolyn sent some baby items. We are so loved, its nice to know when you live so far away from any family. So here are a few pictures of the the things Grandma and Papa Laub sent. Sorry...Emilie is always in her underwear.
